deTaka|Life expression shining in the impermanent world, vivid and refined.

One day, when the death of David Bowie was reported, deTaka, an active dentist, suddenly and unexpectedly decided to start his career as a writer. It was around the time of the funeral of his friends and relatives.

As an artist, she graduated from Kyoto University of Arts in 2018, and is participating in a group exhibition at jadite gallery in New York in 2019. Under the influence of De Kooning, Picasso, Matisse, and Cecily Brown, he creates powerful and bold works with a rough touch and rich colors and matière.

DeTaka, who mainly works with acrylic, has deep pockets, and his individuality shines through in mixed media and digital expression. He paints on the floor like Jackson Pollock, and his series of “Oriental apologies” versus “Western pop” are based on his unique life experience, including the influence of English rock music from his school days, a reverence for finite life, and the flexibility to use dental tools in his work. We are sure that he will continue to bring sophistication and intensity to the audience, just like the musician.
